Breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi

Mon Ami Gabi – Las Vegas

by Administrator on March 26, 2013

Located in the Paris Resort, this has become a favorite for us for breakfast – we ate there three times on our last visit to Las Vegas. The menu adds variety to the usual breakfast fare and, if you snag a table outside, it is great fun enjoy the early morning temperatures and watching the people go by. Some of the fun is having breakfast at 8AM after a short night’s sleep, realizing that some folks walking by haven’t been to bed yet. Anyway, the restaurant features waffles, pancakes, crepes and creative breakfast options in addition to your standards. Champagne and mimosa are available, and if you would like to linger a little, this is a great place to do it. Tacticly, morning is a great time here as the sun is blocked by the Paris building itself, so it doesn’t get unpleasant. After that, the outdoor is sunny until the sun sets behind the Bellagio. Link

Cheeseburger in Paradise

Margaritaville Las Vegas

by Administrator on May 11, 2009

Another fun place to stop along the strip to enjoy margaritas and a cheeseburger…or whatever. Well positioned if you are walking on the strip on a hot spring or summer day – drop in to enjoy the air conditioning; never leave. Yes this is all bar food, margaritas and Jimmy Buffett music, so it’s a great place to kick back, relax and stay for all season. This is a big place with a second floor outdoor patio and requisite volcano behind the bar. The appetizers are great and so are the cheeseburgers. Link

Morels French Steakhouse and Bistro

It was almost a little too hot to sit outside this evening, but being from Chicago, the urge to eat al fresco whenever humanly and mother naturely possible is overwhelmingly. So we tried Morels, partly because of the menu, partly because it is new to us and partly because there is patio seating overlooking the […]

SW Steakhouse

Where DB Brasserie failed to meet expectations this time, SW Steakhouse blew us away. Also situated on Wynns Lake of Dreams, we had requested outside seating along the railing the same as DB. Here, though, when we showed up, we were shown to a perfect table for two to enjoy the evening. The team at […]

Dos Caminos – Las Vegas

A great change of pace for both flavor and the pocketbook. It is absolutely an upscale Mexican restaurant, and prices are reasonable. We asked for and received one of their deep, round booths for two, even though next to us they sat eight in the same size booth. Margaritas are very good with fresh squeezed […]

Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab – Las Vegas

What’s not to love. On a hustling, bustling Friday night, Joe’s did everything right. We received a requested booth right away, only to find it with a cramped amount of legroom no problem, after a minute or two we were moved to a roomier booth big enough to take a nap in. Ok, so […]

Daniel Boulud Brasserie

Our third visit to this restaurant, absolutely a Las Vegas favorite in the past was slightly less special this time, May 2009. On a slow Thursday night, management was less than accommodating when we asked for a table overlooking Wynns Lake of Dreams, even after we said that we would wait until one opened up. […]

Carnevino

An Italian restaurant boasting delicious pastas and an incredible beef selection. Located in the Palazzo in Las Vegas, Carnevino does a wonderful job with flavorful pastas; our gnocchi Bolognese was simply incredible. A bone in tenderloin / filet was perfectly prepared and was extremely flavorful from the slightly crusty exterior to the warm, pink center. […]
