Sightseeing

Sabi Sabi, Sabi Sabi Game Reserve, South Africa

by Administrator on September 14, 2011

We spent an incredible 8 days at Sabi Sabi, spreading our days equally between Bush Lodge and Selati Camp. Both lodges had there respective charm, with service excellent at both. Bush lodge is larger, with more extensive services, Selati is quainter with an incredible sense of intimacy. Both have their respective appeal and I’d be hard pressed to recommend one over the other. One thing I can emphatically state – the experience of game drives and safari walks combined with the service and educational excellence from our rangers made for an extraordinary visit. Ballooning Over the Cradle of Humankind

Johannesburg, South Africa

by Administrator on September 10, 2011

We had the pleasure of visiting South Africa, with our first stop a four night layover in Johannesburg. We stayed in a very nice hotel, an Orient-Express hotel, The Westcliff. While staying there, we had the pleasure of visiting some wonderful local restaurants, in addition to some wonderful local attractions. Moyo and Pigalle were both outstanding places for dinner in Johannesburg. Additionally, hot air ballooning, walking with lions, elephant trekking and just general shopping and meeting local residents made the experience very fulfilling. The flight to Johannesburg from Chicago is a tedious one, with a 7.5 hour flight to London Heathrow, followed by a 12 hour flight to Johannesburg on British Airways our choice. Photos. In season, whale watching is fun and fairly easy in the Los Cabos area. It is easy in that you can generally just sit on the beach and see whales off shore on a regular basis. If you would to get more upclose and personal, arrange an excursion; we booked a great tour through Ocean […]

Private Boat Tours – Amsterdam

This was a romantic, gourmet, and culturally fulfilling way to experience Amsterdam from its canals. We chartered the Saloon Boat Paradis from Private Boat Tours in Amsterdam. The Paradis was built in 1920 and its narrow shape and low structure allows the beautiful vessel to go anywhere, from the narrow canals of the Amsterdam ‘Jordaan’ […]

A most remarkable and awe inspiring site, when in Milan, plan ahead and visit the Santa Maria delle Grazie, home of the Last Supper. We booked tickets well in advance of our arrival, and saw many visitors turned away since access is limited to a specific number of visitors across the day. In order to […]
