Our third visit to this restaurant, absolutely a Las Vegas favorite in the past was slightly less special this time, May 2009. On a slow Thursday night, management was less than accommodating when we asked for a table overlooking Wynn’s Lake of Dreams, even after we said that we would wait until one opened up. We were seated at a table farther away from our requested area after about 45 minutes – but still at a nice table outside regardless. The host said he would move us after another table freed up – and we never saw him again. As for the food, it is outstanding, but we fell into a trap of being disappointed by something that is normal for a restaurant such as this – a changing menu. Two items we enjoyed our previous visit, one shrimp dish was not available, and the pate and charcuturie was almost too large for two people to share. Another Peeky Toe Crab salad was very nice as an appetizer, but after the charcuterie and the crab salad, we were fairly full – so we asked if the kitchen could prepare a half order of another favorite, the braised short ribs and were told NO, so no short ribs for us! So we wrapped up a less than eventful evening at one of our former favorite restaurants in Las Vegas with a small dessert and called it a night. Link
