I have been a member of Audible.com since 2003. I remember at that time using a specialized device sold by Audible to download and then play my audio books while commuting, driving, flying or whatever. Since then I have transitioned to an iPod, and realize that I have been enjoying audio reading for over 6 years. It is both a productive and relaxing way to squeeze more time out of a day, since a commute can change from drudgery to pleasant past-time if it means enjoying a good book or article. I recently checked and I have downloaded and read 312 books since I first started with the service – I wonder if I am any smarter as a result?
