Chicago Prime Steakhouse

One of the food styles for which Chicago has plenty of options is steak, so trying another steakhouse was not high on our list. We tried Chicago Prime because someone we know in the restaurant business took a job there. We have become regulars ever since. This restaurant has a great deal of classic steakhouse appeal, with the owners / managers very present and attentive. Appetizers are fantastic, with the grilled portobello mushroom and shrimp dejonghe being very high on our list of favorites. Breads are very good as well. The caeser salad is not our favorite, lacking a zing to the dressing. The steaks are fantastic. We’ve tried several diffferent cuts and always order a medium rare and a medium for the two of us and the color has always been perfect, as has been the flavors and textures. The steaks are so good, the last several times we’ve been there, we’ve eaten the steaks before we remembered to take a photo for this site! (sorry) I would also recommend the garlic mashed potatoes, especially if you like garlic. Desserts are also very good and the wine list is extensive with good selections at every price point. There is also entertainment in the lounge – check their website for schedules. Visited September 2015 Link
